So I just discovered this website yesterday. I am a 29 year old lesbian from Egypt, and recently had a very bad breakup with the girl I thought was the one and after staying years and years committed and in love with her, things have ended tragically and it has turned my world upside down. After taking the time to grieve and absorb this loss, it was only time to start moving on with my life. However, I found out that I was completely alone once she was gone, and right now I feel like I need to connect with more people who are LGBT like me. I believe that we all suffer, having to hide this part of ourselves from the rest of the world. It's exhausting, and sometimes all you need is to not feel alone and be able to help yourself and others by sharing this fundamentally important aspect of who we are. I would really like to believe that there is still hope to actually find a girl to love and not get completely crushed in the process and to have strong friendships and support system.
If you are LGBT and would like to have a talk, and possibly feel the need to connect as well, please feel free to send me a message. It's so frustrating having to hide behind a screen, like we are all here and alive but we still can't actually connect and we are all fighting this battle alone, when we can be so much stronger together.
