Muslim and being lesbian

A+ A-

So I know there are muslim lesbians out there, but its not easy finding who is and who isn't seem is how it is frowned upon, So no one really comes out, especially living in the middle east.

I've been living in Saudi for 2 and a half years now and it's totally different from living in England. It's harder to be who I am here, even though in Riyadh where I live is like gay/lesbian heaven it's still hard.

I just wanted to know if there is anyone on here that lives in Saudi.

Peace x.

there are a bunch here but i dont remember their usernames yeah it is hard and i can imagine in saudi it would be even harder but it just depends on how well you hide it ... sadly its impossible to be out and proud in a place as closed as saudi society. you have any gay/lesbian friends already that you can share stuff with? are they easy to come across and create such friendships?

It is impossible :/ Yeah I have met a few people here that are lesbians and I've grown close to some of them. Buts as its hard for me its even harder for them as they are full Saudi or half. But I guess it may get a bit easier when I start uni this semester. Hopefully

  • I don't know how is it in KSA really and I assume it isn't so easy for you there. But on a side note generally I've never understood why do we have to link sexual orientation to religion anyways to me both are totally 2 different things and easily can be done at the same time without being linked, in other words, none prevents the other. However if you're talking about society and close minded people with their down-to-date mentalities and trouble accepting anything different, then that's another story as I always say, for some people they prefer you to be a hypocrite than a homosexual sadly. Hence you keep your religion between you and God alone and deal with people whatever way you see suits :P

I get what you are saying, never really thought about it in that way. I know religion should be between God and I alone, but at the same time i guess you could say that I'm still getting used to the fact that am looked down apon. But thanks for the advise.

      Peace x

As a muslim, its hard to be bi or gay anywhere except probably Canada, I've heard they are very open, but even there, how many muslims hide it because their family wouldn't accept it, i don't know.

  • People you have to choose a side because being gay and Muslim is hypocritical. You have to accept the fact that Islam forbids homosexuality and it's a great sin. Gay Muslims make me sad because that they can't see the truth, even though they are the most likely of us to see it. I don't like to try to get people out of their religion but in this case I will be helping you not to suffer for the rest of your life. Islam is outdated and was created by man to control people. I'm not necessarily saying control people in a bad way but to reduce chaos. I know that sometimes it's very difficult to accept the truth but you have to understand that being homosexual and Muslim is hypocritical, don't try to convince yourselves that Islam tolerates it because it doesn't and if you try to find a modern Muslim that says Islam tolerates homosexuality or try to find hadiths or versus that doesn't directly say being gay is wrong, your pathetic. The truth is difficult to accept.
