Hi guys,

I thought you might like to watch this trailer. It's a new movie and I can't describe it better than how I've read it on youtube:

"A poignant film that follows the stories of three young Middle-Eastern women living in the U.S, each with her own secret. As the three stories unfold, the lives of these three women intertwine as they each struggle to defy tradition and create their own realities".

Leave your comments and posts! I personally can't wait to see the movie!!! .

At first I wasn't so sure because it felt a bit cliche but then it got interesting. I think a lot of people can relate to the events in this. Is this an independent film or something we can expect to get a hold of more easily? Guess it'll never make it to the cinemas here but no doubt there will be private screenings.

question for those outside of the arab region: do you think it's easier there than it would be here because its simpler to hide your identity and the societies are a bit more open to this kind of thing? or does family life restrict it completely? looks like in the movie her mom found out and was wondering what her dad would do if he knew too. just a guess couldn't tell much from the trailor other than they hooked up. probably the feeling is the same regardless of location just that there its more of a family reputation thing and here its illegal altogether so a bit riskier.

When I finally get the chance to leave the middle east for good I wont think twice about coming out and being openly gay. I'm also an atheist and that too will not be a secret. I'm tired of being someone I'm not and I'm not ashamed of who I am so who wouldn't accept me for my true self can go to hell (figuratively :p).

there are some people in the gulf who are very openly gay by the way in places like lebanon or kuwait but sometimes it depends on who you hang out with there are several places where gay people hang out and meet each other but they cant be too public about this because its a bit risky in case of homophobic attacks

When I first read your post, I remembered couple of films by Rodrigo García; Things You Can Tell by Just Looking at Her and Nine Lives.

The 2011 Three Veils film which features Madeline Tabar, the beautiful Lebanese veteran, is available to watch in full on YouTube on 13 HQ parts.
