      I am so so happy to see that the youth of the Middle East are trying to help and support LGBT people. Everyone deserves the same rights, everyone deserves love, and no government, religion, society, culture, group or individual should stand in the way of those rights.
      I am in a hetero relationship and very happy but I have many friends who are gay and it breaks my heart to see them ostracised and downtrodden by homophobia. This breeds guilt and shame and there is absolutely no reason to feel either!
      I really hope to be a part of this change, I'd love to live in a world where people are not discriminated against due to their desire to love who they want to love.

      A lot of people will be able to relate to LGBT individuals as they face issues like not being able to marry who they want to marry due to religious or cultural differences, the vast difference in how men and women are treated, and so on. I hope more straight people will realise that they have a lot more in common with LGBT than they thought, and that a world that promotes and fosters love rather than breeds hate is something we should all strive for - regardless of age, race, or sexual preference.

      To all of you out there who feel alone, guilty or ashamed please dont be!! You are perfect and beautiful and you shouldnt live for anyone or anything besides yourself and what you want. Do not change a single thing about you for the sake of others, even family, because you've only got one life to live. Dont live a lie, and dont deny yourself the right and incredible privilege to love :)

      I joined partially to support the efforts of Esra'a Al-Shafei, whom I am indebted to for her tireless fight for the rights and safety of the Baha'is of the world.

      I joined also to lend the perspective of a Western Baha'i with a homosexual father to the discussion, and to try and promote a truthful and civil conversation that examines the issues up for debate in a rational way, separated from the common politics and prejudices.

      Hello to everyone. I am new to this community and just have signed up. First of all, I just wanted to say that I think that all of you are very brave to stand up and fight for what you believe in, and your personal identity. I don´t reside in the Middle East (even if I have always found the culture of those countries to be a fascinating one beyond measure...), but I am a bisexual man and activist on my local group of LGBT rights. I was looking for LGBT organizations on the Arab world when I came across to this, and I must admit I was gladly surprised. I hope to get to meet all of you on time. Well, I guess I dunno what else to write. Just wish all of you a wonderful weekend :) Kisses.

      When I first came across the website, I signed up and went through the topics but I found it difficult to comment and participate. I was just an observer. For me, it was the first time I had actually found a LGBT community in the Middle East and I guess I was afraid of becoming a part of the community itself because it meant that I was acknowledging a future that was unconventional, considered wrong and hated by just about everyone I knew.

      But then I realized that this was really an opportunity. I would live my life the way I'm meant to and I wouldn't be alone. I'd have people who understand me, will guide me and generally be there for me.

      That made it easier for me to start a new topic and eventually start commenting on other topics. It helps knowing that I'm not an abnormality and that there's a future for me.

      I hope this community grows, I really do.

      It would be nice to get in touch with other middle eastern LGBT folks. I see alot of them are on manjam.com. Anyways, we need to do more to make MENA a better place for humanity.
